Uechi-Ryu Karate-Do Europe

Uechi-Ryu Oryukai is affiliated to Uechi-Ryu Karate-Do Europe (URKDE) representing in Europe the Uechi-Ryu Karate-Do Association (上地流空手道協会) based in Ginowan (Okinawa, Japan) and founded by Kanei Uechi (上地 完英).

Nowaday, the Okinawan Organization is headed by the Sōke Sadanao Uechi (上地完尚) – most known in the martial art world as ‘Kansho’ Uechi.

Uechi-Ryu Karate-Do Europe organization is representing the Sōke in Europe and has been created by Yukinobu Shimabukuro (9°Dan) and is currently headed by Didier Lorho (Uechi-Ryu French Federation Expert).

Uechi-Ryu Karate-Do populate Uechi-Ryu Karate within European countries (Poland, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, France). For more information do not hesitate to give a go to their website.

Mattson Academy of Okinawa Karate

As Lionel Reynaud has learned a lot with George Mattson, it was obvious to keep the link with Mattson sensei and the US community.
Lionel is leading an On-line class in the Mattson Academy and teaches Uechi-Ryu to different nationalities (USA, United Kingdom, Canada, Norway, Czech Republic, Italy, France, …..).
By default all members of our community of practice (Uechi-Ryu Oryukai) have access to these international classes.
It is a powerful to progress in Karate and also in English too (if you are a non native English speaker).
It is also a way to meet practitioners all around the world.

We tend as well to attend international seminars (USA, Europe and also Japan too).

Our community of practice is affiliated International Uechi-Ryu Karate Federation (IUKF).
This federation has been founded by Mattson sensei and from 2019 has been headed by Darin Yee.
