2024-2025 Summary

This season will be remembered as a milestone for our community, with the creation of the Uechi-Ryu Karate Institute. This new structure now offers both English- and French-speaking practitioners the opportunity to learn and refine our style of karate, in a spirit of openness and sharing.

Within the group, we had the joy of awarding our first black belts — a symbol of perseverance and hard work. Our family has also grown with the arrival of highly motivated new practitioners, whom we will be proud to support on their martial journey.

In June 2025, we held our first gathering in France — a memorable moment of meeting and exchange. Preparations for the next events, scheduled for late 2025 and 2026, are already underway!

Our sensei, Lionel Reynaud, has been deeply committed to the development of the group and the transmission of Uechi-Ryu Karate. He represented our school at the Winterfest in Orlando, where he presented Mattson sensei’s traditional approach in the United States.
He has also helped many practitioners from various organizations prepare for their rank promotions from 1st to 3rd Dan.

Finally, we had the pleasure of celebrating an important milestone: Lionel earned his 4th Dan (Yondan) in the United States.
