The Sensei
On Line class are lead by Lionel Reynaud.
Lionel Reynaud is a seasoned Uechi-Ryu Karate instructor who received the title of Jun-Shihan from George Mattson in 2019. He holds certification from the French Karate Federation (Diplôme d’Instructeur Fédéral) and is internationally recognized by the International Uechi-Ryu Karate Federation (IUKF).
In addition to his Karate expertise, Lionel has an extensive background in cycling and the Olympic/Paralympic world. From 2005 to 2007, he coached a professional cycling team and later worked with Olympic and Paralympic athletes at the Beijing, London, and Rio Olympics.
During the pandemic in 2020, Lionel participated in the first online Suparenpei Kata Tournament, securing second place. He also created the ORYUKAN online learning program to allow students worldwide to continue practicing Uechi-Ryu Karate remotely.

Mattson Academy
Since 2022, Lionel has been a Senior Instructor at the Mattson Academy, teaching online for European and American students. The Mattson Academy was the first Uechi-Ryu school in the West, founded by George Mattson, and has trained many pioneers of Karate such as Jim Maloney and Buzz Durkin.
