Mattson Academy with sensei Lionel Reynaud

Since March 2022, Lionel Reynaud has been serving as an Instructor at the Mattson Academy of Okinawan Uechi-Ryu Karate-Do, located in Florida and welcoming international students.

Classes are open to all members of Oryukan and take place every Tuesday from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM (Eastern Time). Instruction is conducted in English.

About the Mattson Academy

The Mattson Academy is the oldest Uechi-Ryu martial arts school in the Western world. It was founded in 1958 in Boston by George Mattson, following his return from Okinawa.

Over the years, the Academy has trained many of the pioneers of American karate, including Buzz Durkin, Jack Sommers, and Jim Maloney
